Online form, paid. $100.00 charitable membership offering, payable in full or as ten monthly payments of $10.00.

Enroll now

Submit the Redemptorists' online registration with your $100 offering, or spread it over ten monthly payments of $10; if you want to enroll through the Boston basilica instead you have to pick up a paper registration form at the rectory office, and the basilica notes that only a limited number of enrollments are available.

This is the devotional family around the most reproduced image of Mary in the world. Members honour Our Mother of Perpetual Help, usually through the weekly perpetual novena that Redemptorist churches have prayed for generations, and in return the Redemptorists commit to offering Masses and prayers for their members' intentions. The American version is frankly a membership and benefactor society: your $100 offering supports Redemptorist mission work, and in exchange your name goes into a year of First Friday Masses, the Christmas octave and the Easter octave, with a house blessing, a membership card and prayer materials sent to you.

Where it comes from

A Pious Union of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was established on 23 May 1871 in the Church of St Alphonsus in Rome, and in 1876 it was raised to the Archconfraternity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St Alphonsus. The original icon was entrusted to the Redemptorists by Pius IX in 1866.

What you promise

Nothing binding is published. Members are to be distinguished by their practice of faith and prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help, following the teaching of St Alphonsus Liguori, and are encouraged to pray the rosary and the perpetual novena. The US Society renews annually.

What the Church attaches

For the US Society: a remembrance in the Feast Day Mass of Our Mother of Perpetual Help on 27 June at the Boston basilica; the Mass and Novena Prayer offered for you on every First Friday for a year by the Redemptorists' sick and retired priests; enrollment in the Christmas Octave and Easter Octave of Masses at San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch, New Jersey; a house blessing; rosary and Magnificat materials; a membership card; and the Baltimore Beacon newsletter. The historic indulgences of the Rome archconfraternity are separate from this US Society.
