This is a spiritual benefit society rather than a confraternity with rules. You are enrolled, the Marian Fathers pray for you and for anyone you enroll, and in return members are asked to pray for each other and for the Marians. The distinctive feature is that you can enroll other people, including people who have died, which is why so many Catholics first meet the Association through its remembrance cards and enrollment folders given at a funeral or an anniversary. It sits at the centre of the Divine Mercy apostolate in the English-speaking world, since the Marians at Stockbridge are the official promoters of that devotion.

What you promise
Very light. Members are asked to pray for one another and for the Marian Fathers. There is no rule of life, no required daily prayer and no meeting.
What the Church attaches
The Association's own list: daily Holy Mass celebrated for Marian Helpers; Mass offered for members on the First Friday and First Saturday; Mass offered for deceased members on All Souls' Day; a special Mass on each feast day of Our Lord and of Our Lady; the continuous Novena to the Divine Mercy at the National Shrine in Stockbridge; and the daily prayers of the staff at the Shrine and the Marian Helpers Center. No indulgences are claimed for membership itself.
Something physical is involved
Enrollment cards and enrollment folders are mailed, and the member magazine Marian Helper is sent free to members.
